1. About Me

   I am an egalitarian white male who is married to the love of his life (lyncollege). We are expecting a little bundle of joy somewhere around August 18, 2006!
   
   I am an active supporter of GLAD, HRC, MoveOn.org, the MoveOn PAC, and the ACLU.
   
   I contribute to Folding@HOME: My Folding@HOME User Page.
   
   I also contribute to Wikipedia: My Wikipedia Userpage.
   
   In my free time, I code XHTML, CSS, ECMAScript (JavaScript), Python, PHP, Perl, shell scripting (incl. sed and awk), C, C++, C#, and Java (this is not JavaScript!). I'm also crafty with the many forms of Visual Basic (VB, VBA, VB.NET, and VBS) when the need arises. I've even been known to write a handy batch file/script or two in my day.
   
   I also enjoy playing games from Square's Final Fantasy series, namely Final Fantasy XI [see also]. My other Final Fantasy favorites are FFVI, FFVII, FFIX, and FFX. (FFVIII was, eh, okay.) (Ev oui lyh nayt drec, oui naymmo yna y kaag!)
   
   I currently play as two separate FFXI characters: Zaur, a San d'Orian male Hume from the Ramuh world and Parker, a Bastokan male Hume from the Cerberus world. Death to gil sellers!
   
   I love listening to music. My musical tastes vary from classical (Beethoven, Pachelbel, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, et al.) to rap/hip hop (e.g.: 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Eminem, Will Smith, et al.) to trip hop (Portishead, Morcheeba, Björk, et al.) to black/death/gothic/* metal (Nile, Cradle of Filth, Strapping Young Lad, Dimmu Borgir, God Dethroned, Opeth, et al.) to anywhere in between (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle, Beseech, Nirvana, Jozlin Bones, Alice In Chains, Bush, Otep, Skindred, and more). I have Last.fm and MusicBrainz profiles.
   
   In the past, I have associated myself with many (anti-)religious "paths"/concentrations/teachings, including Satanism [see also], "Setianism", Thelema, Chaos Magick, Taoism [see also], Neo-Confucianism, and Atheism. Currently, I consider myself to be somewhere in the midst of all the preceding examples. I've often thought about writing a book or two describing my thoughts, but I'm sure such a book already exists somewhere. I'm still searching for it. In the meantime, I'm proud to be involved with the Society of the Onyx Star (societyonyxstar), an organization with a mission to help adepts of the Left Hand Path develop, enhance, and mature their own subjective understandings of the universe and its workings.
